Well managed case. Need to be more confident in clinical examination. Don't forget to consider other differentials even when the diagnosis appears obvious.

Considered a range of different differentials and correctly diagnosed a rare condition (confirmed by dermatology) using a online differential diagnosis support tool. I thought she might be wrong, but she stuck to her guns and insisted the patient was referred. She made the right call. Well done.

A good competent consultation. Clearly feels less comfortable with young children, but that will come. Suggest spending some time at RCH. Took her time and looked up what she didn't know. Didn't need to ask for help. Well done. Continue getting practice.

Hi Suzy, Could you give me some feedback on the following areas?

Feedback Summary

I am Ann's line manager and practice manager. Ann has been working as a trainee ANP for several months now and has been gaining confidence in the role. She now runs her own surgery seeing patients presenting for same day appointments with typical minor illness presentations or regular patients with specific long-term conditions such as COPD or diabetes. Ann has her clinical supervisor next door if there are any issues, and she discusses all of her cases with her supervisor at the end of the day. Rarely does she need to call a patient back. Ann has also been developing her leadership and education functions. Working with the partners she has updated the ANP Service SOP, she has also been sharing some of her knowledge and skills with the GPN and supporting her through her clinical assessment course...... etc etc

Hi Can you provide some feedback on the patient I referred to you last week (and we discussed this morning?) Many thanks

Feedback Summary

Ann has made a number of referrals to me over the last few weeks. All have been appropriate. If she's not sure whether we can do something she's called to discuss first. Last week she referred a 14 year old lad with complex problems....... etc etc

Hi Could you give me some feedback on my progress to date?

Feedback Summary

Ann is progressing well. She has completed her first three modules at university with good marks. She is working on building her eportfolio and seeing patients under supervised practice. To date she has been a broad range of patients, and is comfortable seeing adult patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes, and a growing range of minor illness presentations. She is less comfortable seeing children and will need continuing supervised practice to see. Etc, etc.
